A Thursday Night Delight

Many of you will remember how last year’s festival kicked off with a handful of tournament games on Thursday night. Well, this year we’re doing things a little differently. And the sole purpose of this change is to enhance every player’s overall Quest 2 experience.

If you haven’t noticed by the schedule that was posted on Wednesday, we have refined our tournament into a three-day format so that we could purchase more ice for our first-annual Thursday Night Open House event.

Now any Quest II player can come out to Big Bear on Thursday night and play in one of our $5 drop-in sessions and pay just another $5 to compete for a great prize in one of our two Breakaway Challenges!

Each drop-in session is 90 minutes long and split up by playing level and in between each session will be a one-hour Breakaway Challenge on either end of the ice. Depending on the number of participants, the challenge might be combined into just one division and held on both ends.

The Breakaway Challenge is just a simple “last-man standing” shootout competition where players take a penalty shot and then advance from round to round until there is only one winner remaining. Goalies will get to play in both of these events for free but are not eligible for prizes.
